Runonheart Personal Training was born out of a sincere desire to make a positive difference in the world.
We train one-on-one with couples and groups both children and adults.
We also have a convenient individualized on-line training program. Once you become a member, we do an assessment to determine your needs and goals. Then we will set you up with an online program to meet your needs. After that, a once a month visit to access progress, create new fitness goals and gather information to create new programs...It's simple and convenient.
Additionally, we work with competitive marching bands utilizing functional training techniques. The ultimate goal: to improve core, balance, stability, flexibility, strength, and endurance. ROHPT is going into its 7th successful season working with competitive marching bands in the Midwest.
Meet Michel the Trainer:
"I am a woman who struggled most of her life with weight and body image issues. As a child of Italian descent I was raised traditionally in a family who's relatives were charter members of the "clean plate club." As you might imagine, this created in me from a very early time in my life...a battle with food and exercise. As a youth my parents put me on many a diet..even Dr. Stillman at the age of 12.
As a teen in the 70's I became anorexic and was hospitalized for it. Back then little was understood about how to deal with it...or even really what it was. Doctors at the time decided that the cure was..teaching people how to eat. As we know now...eating was just the symptom and not the cause. over the years up to when I was about 38 years old...I went up and down the scale...I have been a life long runner, but that didn't even help.
At the age of 38...I woke up. I realized that there HAD to be a better way. That I was not going to go into my 40's...with two young children...to whom I had to be an example...looking and feeling the way I did.
So, what did I do...?
I worked out HARD for a solid year and did NOT see much result...did every machine in the club...took all the classes...and lost a total of 10 pounds. It was disheartening.
Then one day...I'd had enough. There was a trainer at the club...and I sat down with him...we talked and talked...I listened and REALLY listened..because the switch had FINALLY gone on. I needed to change..everything...from the inside out. I had to look at my eating differently. I had to understand cardio and it's role...and I had to change my relationship with food.
I hired a trainer...and got an education. More importantly...I listened, absorbed and adapted everything he said to me. His name was Mark, and I am ever grateful- for the rest of my life- for his guidance. From that point on I was able to achieve steady and permanent weight loss.
It was because of this experience that I decided to become a trainer when my children went off to school. I wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of all the people that I could in the time that I have in this body...in this life. I want to teach what I have learned to as many people as possible.
I have since gone on to run 12 marathons and an ultra. One of my passions is to train folks for these events...
One of my other passions...is helping people realize life-long dreams of fitness and health.
As well...in the last 6 years I have developed another true passion helping teens who perform in school functions that are athletically underserved by the school system. Thus, I have developed a superior program which focuses not only on the physical development of the child but the emotional development as well.....we change lives for the better-permanently.
Here is the thing....
If you can conceive it....
If you can believe it....
YOU CAN BE IT.
If you want it bad enough...it can be yours.
Be well...
